Thanksgiving ish...

I spent Thanksgiving with the Campbell family, Jeremy, and Simeon. It was quite delightful. Susan made a delicious meal. It was nice to feel at "home" while being 2000 miles away from home. Susan and I even caught a movie which was a first for me. My family doesn't do movies especially on holidays.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we took a trip to Julian!! I have been wanted to go to this little mountain town for quite a while. This is no surprise but I loved it! We walked around and went in a lot of little shops. We ate at a real country restaurant where I made Bea and Renee try fried pickles. I even got to pet the mini horse pictured above. I asked Will for a mini horse for Christmas. He said no. Whateva! It was so nice to drive an hour outside of San Diego to the "country" and see the changing leaves and get a taste of the small town feel. Those trees that look like they were kissed with snow where actually kissed with fire. Yikes. I love seeing new places. Yay for Julian. They are famous for their apple pies but I don't like baked fruit at all so I was happy with the fried pickles.

After Julian we went to a Christmas tree farm to help Renee pick out a Christmas tree. That was another first for me. It was pretty fun and I love how a real tree smells! That night we decorated it and watched Four Christmases.

Basically.... Thanksgiving weekend was a SUCCESS.
