Neato Burrito.

Flashback:
July 2008 (2 years ago). My dear friend Brian is visiting (miss him). Bea, Brian, and I are eating pick up stix outside. We get into a conversation with a couple that is at the table next to us. Andy and Cathy. They tell us about their 3 daughters, his job at the SDPD, her job at Nordies, their experience with church, and much more. We tell them about Elevate, invite them, and exchange several emails back and forth with them during the weeks after our meeting. Then we lose touch. Life goes on.

Now we are in the present day.
June 2010. A handsome man comes to Elevate. I speak with him after the service and have a strange feeling that I know him. I quickly convince myself that I do not know him, San Diego is huge, and I know no one here. The man helps us tear down after church. The next Sunday the man is back at Elevate. This time he brought his daughter and his nephew. After the service I overhear the man telling Kevin about talking to some kids outside of pick up stix. I run over and jump into the conversation and say, "That was me! That was me! I am Maggie!" 2 YEARS after telling Andy and his wife about Elevate... HE CAME!! Today Cathy came with him. Every time I think about Andy and see him, his wife, daughter, nephew, or his nephew's wife the biggest smile covers me face. I am so glad that Andy and his family are at Elevate. This story is also so encouraging to me. You never know! Your job is to invite people to church. Whether or not they come is not up to you. I think it is SO COOL that they remember talking to those kids outside of pick up stix and decided to try church at Elevate. So... invite your friends, invite your neighbors, invite the strangers you meet at the grocery store. God's timing is perfect.

Nan, if you read this, can you pass this story along to your son? Thanks :)
