Today at work we stayed inside all morning. That hardly ever happens. Jackson is out of school for the summer so we have been living it up this week. Today Jackson wanted to play "boyfriend/girlfriend" with Elle and then later on in the day he asked me if I would be his and his girlfriend's waiter. Like every good nanny, I agreed. Jackson is 5.5 and Elle 2.5. You can imagine how interesting that was. At the end of the pretend meal Elle was asking me where the menu was and telling me to get her a menu. At one point she lost interest and just left the room. Jackson said, "Um, can you hold on just a minute, my girlfriend went somewhere." Hilarious. Thank goodness most parents are in charge on trips to the restaurant because I was one tired pretend waitress after waiting on a 5.5 and 2.5 year old! I have no idea where Jay bud learned to play boyfriend/ girlfriend but he does it pretty well. I heard him telling Elle, "You're my girlfriend. Sometimes we fight and argue but it's ok because I still love you."
Days like today make me smile. I love those 3 children as if I birthed them. Getting paid to play waitress is pretty awesome... I can't lie. Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds :)
